The multi-generational Grünke family in Germany, Richard (Father), Klaus and Thomas, are universally recognized as some of the best bow makers today. Cello Factory (CF) are honoured to invite Mr. Klaus Grünke to speak the craft of bow making and the history of German bowmaking in 19^th to 20^th centuries.

Let’s have an afternoon tea!

Cello Factory (CF) has invited Mr Stefano Trabucchi, Master Violinmaker in Cermona Italy, to speak his art work and lutherie. When he was only 14, Trabucchi enrolled himself at the Stradivari Institute of violin making in Cremona. He enjoys creating specific baroque instruments and makes reproduction of antique instruments and undersize violins. His violins give very focused sound with bright colours, yet mature into a distinct voice of their own as time goes by.

Stephen Chau Meets Chan Kwok Chiu

Guitar and Flute Duet

Our very own classical guitarist Stephen Chau met the famous flutist Chan Kwok-chiu in a Music Composition Competition in 1989, and began their long time partnership. In 1990, they performed together in the Hong Kong Fringe Festival in a special concert, and since then performed in universities, invitation concerts by the Hong Kong Music Office, and the Fringe Club. In the 90’s, they were invited by the Hong Kong Urban Council as special performers, and have undoubtedly become a new music force in Hong Kong to be reckoned with, in promoting music in our community. In 2005, Chan Kwok-chiu returned to Hong Kong, and the dynamic duo became active again. This year, we bring these two commanding forces together for a not to be missed guitar and flute duet.
