Stephen Chau Meets Chan Kwok Chiu

Guitar and Flute Duet

Our very own classical guitarist Stephen Chau met the famous flutist Chan Kwok-chiu in a Music Composition Competition in 1989, and began their long time partnership. In 1990, they performed together in the Hong Kong Fringe Festival in a special concert, and since then performed in universities, invitation concerts by the Hong Kong Music Office, and the Fringe Club. In the 90’s, they were invited by the Hong Kong Urban Council as special performers, and have undoubtedly become a new music force in Hong Kong to be reckoned with, in promoting music in our community. In 2005, Chan Kwok-chiu returned to Hong Kong, and the dynamic duo became active again. This year, we bring these two commanding forces together for a not to be missed guitar and flute duet.
