Hong Kong Cello Festival 2009 is the first festival focusing on the music of Cello in Hong Kong. The Festival will features a recital by famous cellist, master classes, concert for participants, and school touring performances, with the aim to promote cello to general public.

Artem Konstantinov

Artem Konstantinov was born in Russia and studied cello at the Glinka School in Novosibirsk and at the Moscow Conservatory of Music, Guildhall School of Music in London. Prizes  winner  in  Competitions of Young Cellists (Russia), International Competition of Young Ensemble of Art (Moscow), Competition of Chamber Music in Palma D’Ora (Italy), Russian National Cello Competition (Russia). In 2001 he received an honorary award from the Russian Department of Culture. Studied and collaborated with great musicians and cellists M.Rostropovich, N.Shashovskaya, K.Rodin, A.Rudin, S.Popov, A.Kniazev, L.Evgrafov, M.Tarasova. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras in Europe, Russia and the best orchestras in Asia. From 1999 to 2005 he served as principal-soloist cellist of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. He joined City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as Principal cellist in 2006 and served as guest Principal of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
